Google AdWords is one of the two big things that Google does to generate revenue (the other is Google AdSense). When you do a search on Google, you get a page back from them that lists the web sites best meeting the criteria you inserted. If you're put in a common search term you might get 1,276,893 sites that meet that criteria. Not too helpful. But off to the right, and perhaps across the top, you'll get some 'Sponsored Links' -- those are AdWords.
Your web site by itself might be site number 659,235 that Goodle will show (if anyone will scroll down that far). But if you pay Google a few cents each time it's clicked on you can get your site listed in the column on the right.
This book is all about how to use AdWords. How to select the search words where you want your ad to appear. How much to bid for each click. How to test ads. How to use Google's tools. Google's rules. There's a whole book here, and it's full. But if you're trying to drive hits to a web page and sales from the hits Adwords is probably your best bet. And it's clear that these guys know what they're talking about.

Excellent as a complete read and constant reference, February 22, 2007
This book is great. Easy to read, easy to understand and more. It has inspired me to get to the next level in so many ways. Stragely enough, it's not a motivational book, but it has a way of sneaking up on you and providing a burst of energy to make things happen. I am a skeptic at heart, so for me to be writing this about what amounts to a "biz op" book means it's really well put together. My father started a successful direct marketing company in Puerto Rico in the 60's. Home Delivery of Sears and JC Penney fliers to over half a million homes in PR + home delivery of "sample bags" for new Procter & Gamble products. If alive today, he would be blow away by Google, the adwords system and marketing today. If you are young (hell, even if you are older) you can take this book, learn the adwords and other google business pieces and become a web marketing consultant. Becoming a specialist now will only make you more and more valuable. Sure, you may not become a "Perry", but even getting 10% of the way there will make you a lot of cash. Buy the book. It's worth every penny. Just be careful. Perry and his team have a lot of other great offerings that keep coming in:-)
